Harrington, Ferris Earn Athlete of the Week Honors

At Taconic High School, the baseball team was 4-5 midway through the year but has won four of its last five games to improve to 8-6.
Ed Ferris has been a consistent presence in the lineup, hitting .316, which is second among the Thunder's regulars this season.
He also leads the team in runs scored (14) and RBIs (17) while accounting for six of the team's nine home runs.
Ferris doubled and drove in a run in Taconic's 6-4 win over previously unbeaten Ware to start last week and walked, stole a base and scored twice in a win over rival Pittsfield to end the week.
This week, Taconic plays three times, including a rematch against Pope Francis, a 9-6 winner when the teams met on April 30.
The Wahconah girls lacrosse team started the year 3-3 but has moved over the .500 mark with a 4-2 stretch that includes two losses by a combined three goals.
Ninth-grader Brooke Harrington has been the pace-setter for Wahconah on offense, scoring 35 goals and adding seven assists.
This week, she had a hat trick and assisted on a pair of goals in a 7-6 win over Amherst-Pelham.
Her day included a game-tying goal with 20 seconds left in regulation and an assist on Anna Doyle's game-winner in overtime.
Wahconah (7-5) starts a busy stretch of six games in eight days on Monday when it hosts Northampton, a team it beat, 8-7, on the road on April 24.
