Wigington, Gamberoni Lead Wahconah Girls at Hoophall Classic

SPRINGFIELD, MASS. -- Grace Wigington and Olivia Gamberoni combined for 47 points in leading the Wahconah girls basketball team to a 69-39 win over Springfield International Charter School at the Hoophall Classic on Friday at Springfield College.

 

Wigington scored a game-high 25 points, and Gamberoni had a double-double with 22 points and 13 rebounds.

 

Eva Eberwein scored seven points for Wahconah, which overcame a slow start with a 21-7 second quarter to take a 31-22 lead into the locker room.

 

Alicia Mitchell led the Bulldogs with 11 points and 11 boards.

 

Wahconah (9-1) goes to Amherst-Pelham on Tuesday.
