Wahconah Girls Pull Away in Second Half Against Mahar

DALTON, Mass. — Grace Wigington Monday scored 22 points to lead the Wahconah girls basketball team to a 68-41 win over Mahar in the Western Massachusetts Class B quarter-finals.
 
Wigington hit six 3-pointers, including two in the third quarter, when Wahconah outscored Mahar, 24-11, to take a 50-32 lead.
 
Olivia Gamberoni scored 13 points, and Madison McCarthy added nine in the win.
 
Second-seeded Wahconah (16-3) hosts third-seeded Easthampton on Wednesday in the regional semi-finals.
