Late Shot Clips Wahconah Girls in Class B Quarters

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Olivia Athas hit a jumper with .9 seconds left on the clock Wednesday to give the South Hadley girls basketball team a 59-57 win over Wahconah in the Western Massachusetts Class B Quarter-Finals.
 
Athas scored 12 points for the Tigers, who got 18 from Kate Phillips.
 
Brooke Harrington scored 11 points to lead Wahconah, which dropped its second two-point loss at South Hadley in three days.
 
Danielle Hagmaier and Gianna Heilbroun each scored 10, and Gracey Farley hit three 3-pointers to finish with nine in the loss.
 
Wahconah (11-8) waits to hear who it will play in its consolation match-up to finish the regular season.
