Carver Girls Pull Away from Mount Greylock in Second Half

CARVER, Mass. – Abigail Johnson scored 16 points, and eighth-seed Carver outscored Mount Greylock, 19-12, in the fourth quarter en route to a 48-38 win in Division 5 State Tournament on Friday night.
 
The Mounties (6-15) led, 20-18, at half-time Havannah Pina scored five points in the third quarter to help the hosts grab a 29-26 advantage going to the fourth.
 
“We gave a very good team everything they could handle, and we left everything on the floor,” Mount Greylock coach John Jacobbe said.
 
Charlotte Coody tied for game-high honors with 16 points, and Jackie Brannan scored eight for the Mounties.
