Pioneer Valley Stymies Short-Handed Mount Greylock Girls

NORTHFIELD, Mass. – Kiara Gruszhowski scored 15 points Monday to lead the Pioneer Valley girls basketball team to a 33-28 win over Mount Greylock.
 
Gruszhowski hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored nine points in the third quarter, when the hosts outscored the Mounties, 13-2, to build a 24-12 lead.
 
Mount Greylock was led by Kate Shelsey with seven points and Tanley Drake with six.
 
“We had a shorthanded lineup tonight with several girls out,” Mount Greylock coach John Jacobbe said.
 
Grace Namkoong made a 3-pointer and scored five points for her first varsity points.
 
Mount Greylock (5-10) goes to PIttsfield on Friday.
