Monument Mountain Girls Down Hampshire Regional

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Abby Dohoney scored 22 points Tuesday to lead the Monument Mountain girls basketball team to a 70-40 win over Hampshire.
 
“Great shooting night from Abby, Lenah [Helmke] and Maya [Valasco] set up by the inside work of Elle [Hull], Mia [Wade] and Emily [Mead],” Monument Mountain coach John Perreault said. “Strong team win for us.”
 
Helmke hit three 3-pointers on the way to an 11-point night. Valasco scored twice from behind the arc.
 
Hull scored 14 and accounted for one of the Spartans’ nine 3-pointers.
 
Dohoney scored 16 points in the first half to help Monument Mountain take a 37-15 lead into half-time.
 
Emma Czarniecki scored 13 to lead Hampshire.
 
The Spartans (5-3) host Agawam on Thursday.
