Randi Duquette, Generals Start Strong in Playoff-Opening Win

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Randi Duquette scored 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds Monday to lead the Pittsfield girls basketball team to a 52-27 win over Frontier in the quarter-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class B regional tournament.
 
Jamie Duquette just missed a double-double with nine points and 18 birds, and Charlotte Goodnow finished with seven rebounds and four assists for the Generals.
 
Pittsfield opened the game on a 9-0 run in a low-scoring first quarter.
 
Frontier cut the deficit to 12-6 early in the second, but Pittsfield closed the first half on a 10-0 run to lead by 16 at half-time.
 
Randi Duquette started that run with a basket in transition and scored the last six points of the half – the final two at the foul line with 5.3 seconds on the clock.
 
Pittsfield (11-8) travels to face top-seeded Wahconah on Wednesday in the Western Mass semi-finals.
