Pittsfield Wins Rematch with Minnechaug

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Dezerea Powell scored nine points Monday to lead the Pittsfield girls basketball team to a 46-35 win over Minnechaug as the Generals avenged their only loss of the season.
 
Madison Stetz scored eight points and pulled down 10 rebounds, and Caprese Conyers scored eight points and passed out three assists in the win.
 
After a low-scoring first half that saw Pittsfield take a 15-10 lead into the locker room at the Boys and Girls Club, both offenses found a little more success in the second half.
 
It was 29-23, Pittsfield, going into the fourth quarter.
 
Powell hit a 3-pointer and scored seven points in the final eight minutes to help the Generals pull away.
 
Minnechaug came into the game with a record of 11-2 and the No. 16 ranking statewide in Division 2.
 
Pittsfield, the No. 7 team in D3, improved to 13-1 with the win.
 
The Generals Tuesday go to Chicopee Comprehensive for their second of three games in three nights.
