Pittsfield Stifles Connecticut Squad at Hoophall

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Caprese Conyers Saturday scored 18 points to lead the Pittsfield girls basketball team to a 54-24 win over Glastonbury, Conn., in the Hoophall Invitational at Central High School.
 
The Generals started strong on the defensive end, holding the Guardians scoreless in the first quarter.
 
Kyana Summers scored 14 points for Pittsfield, which took a 33-6 lead into half-time. Harolyn Castillo finished with eight points and team-highs of eight rebounds and seven steals.
 
The Generals (7-2) go back to Central for a 5 p.m. bracket title game against the winner of Saturday’s game between Greater Lawrence and Scarsdale, N.Y.
