Legal and Financial Aspects of Dementia Seminar

Locally a program is being held to explore the legal and financial issues common for people living with dementia. It is scheduled for Thursday, October 25th from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. at the Lee Public Library. It will be presented by local elder law attorney, Paula Almgren, and Western Massachusetts Manager of the Alzheimer’s Association, Marcia McKenzie. For people in any financial situation, this 1 1/2-hour presentation will offer information about important topics such as wills, durable powers of attorney, health care proxies, and what Medicare and Medicaid does and does not cover. Too many people wait until it's too late before learning about these important issues. While this program is not intended to substitute for a personal appointment with an elder law attorney, you will have the opportunity to hear about typical issues and problems that can be avoided or reduced by adequate planning. Pre-registration is necessary; call (413) 499-0691 to register. The Lee Public Library is at 100 Main St., Lee, MA. Space constraints may limit group size. This program will be offered at various times and sites throughout the year.

MassDOT: Lee Drainage Repairs on I-90 Westbound

LEE, Mass. — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing drainage repair operations on I-90 westbound from mile marker 10.4 to mile marker 10.6 in Lee. 
 
The work will take place on Wednesday, November 5, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with a shoulder closure in place.
 
Drivers traveling through the area should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution. 
 
Appropriate signage and messaging will be in place to guide drivers through the work areas. 
 
All scheduled work is weather dependent and subject to change without notice.
