Voters approved all three articles on the warrant at a special town meeting Tuesday night. All three votes were overwhelmingly in favor but not without some spirited back and forth between the packed community center and town officials.
The town will only be performing the Crest Drive work for now and DeAngelis said Geeleher won't necessarily do the other two roads. Work will include an upgrade to 8-inch ductile iron pipe, hydrant and valve replacement, pipe replacement across Route 8, and other associated road work.
The Selectmen approved a reserve fund transfer of $40,000 to purchase a Vactor Vacuum truck.
Interim Town Administrator Donna Cesan asked the board to consider the purchase of a used vacuum truck to work alongside the town’s aging truck and help maintain MS4 Stormwater Managment requirements.
The order authorizes the purchase of four Ford F550 heavy duty trucks (the green trucks); two Dodge Ram Tradesman pickup trucks for Public Services and Inspection Services; a Chevrolet Silverado 3500 for the Building Department and Hyundai Sonata Hybrid for Inspection Services.
