Last year, the organization's campaign goal was $470,000. The amount raised ended up being $477,667. And this year's campaign goal is $480,000.
Now those volunteers are revving up a fund-raising campaign to help maximize the park's potential and ensure recreational opportunities for youngsters for years to come.
The nonprofit committee organized by the Downtown Pittsfield Cultural Association was approved last month for a $50,000 Commonwealth Places/MassDevelopment matching grant. It hopes to raise the $50,000 in matching funds by May 18.
