The culinary art of Megan Moore, chef and proprietor of Moore Fine Food in Great Barrington, Mass., is featured on the cover of the May issue of Food & Wine magazine. Inside ‘Fast’– the most popular column of the monthly magazine –are eight of Moore’s signature recipes in a four-page spread detailing innovative and quick-to-prepare picnic-hamper foods for the coming season. Food & Wine magazine explores all aspects of an epicurean lifestyle including cooking, entertaining, wine and food pairing and dining out with an emphasis on style, accessibility and fun. Moore was asked by Food & Wine to design simple, finished recipes for picnics or pot-luck dinners. All recipes can be prepared in less than 30 minutes. Highlighted on the magazine cover is the product of Moore’s recipe for edamame and pea salad with sweet onions and goat cheese. Included in the ‘Fast’ section are instructions for prosciutto-wrapped shrimp with orange marmalade; bread salad with roasted tomatoes and capers; halibut roasted in grape leaves with lemon vinaigrette, and chile-glazed chicken wings. Each recipe offers tips for making the recipes in advance to save on last-minute preparation time as well as notes on substitution ideas. “Working with Food & Wine was a delight and I thoroughly enjoyed the process of designing recipes for their ‘Fast’ column," said Moore. “Being in Food & Wine gives me a terrific opportunity to reach true connoisseurs of fine food and I look forward to collaborating with the magazine in the future," she added.
