Since the early months of 2000, stock markets have suffered a bear market. From 2000 through 2002, both ValuEngine and Zacks yielded greater growth than the S&P 500, the NASDAQ, and the Dow. Yet, for all those years, according to ValuEngine and Zacks back testing information available on their respective websites, the yield of the ValuEngine 5-engine model beat the yield of the Zacks Rank model, by 4 percent in 2000, over 9 percent in 2001, and over 4 percent in 2002. Thus, an investor who put in $10,000 between 2000 and 2002 would have had a portfolio worth $16,705 using the ValuEngine model, but worth $14,377 using the Zacks Rank model.
ValuEngine uses a proprietary quantitative model pioneered by a team led by Yale Finance Professor Zhiwu Chen. "ValuEngine's model provides compelling results for both retail and institutional clients. We've been following them for a couple years and they appear to be a clear future leader in the independent research space," remarked Arik Keller, President of MindBranch,Inc., a leading market research provider partnered with ValuEngine. Such
absolute independence coupled with a superior growth record poise ValuEngine to take advantage of the Wall Street securities settlement, which requires ten leading investment banks to spend $432.5M on independent research.
"MindBranch's eleven years of experience in the research industry teamed with our top-performing model creates a formidable partnership," said Paul Henneman, President of ValuEngine. "We're very pleased with the performance of our models relative to both the markets and other leading independent research providers," added Henneman.
