Celebrate Independence Day in the Berkshires at any of the following exciting events! North Adams Fireworks Postponed until Sunday night. See Below Pittsfield Fireworks Postponed until Saturday night. See Below Williamstown: Tuesday, July 3 -- 6 p.m: Band Concert and Picnic: The Eagles Band and Patriotic Sing-A-Long at the Clark Art Institute, 225 South St. Wednesday, July 4 -- 11 a.m: Fourth of July Parade winds along Route 2 (at Southworth Street) and continues to Spring Street. 12 noon: Spring Street Barbeque and Music 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.: Reading of the Declaration of Independence at Chapin Rare Book Library, Williams College. 2 p.m.: Images Cinema at 50 Spring St. hosts "Yankee Doodle Dandy." Pittsfield: 10 a.m.: The annual Pittsfield parade will start at the intersection of South and East & West Housatonic Streets and follow South Street around Park Square and down North Street to Wahconah Street and will end at Wahconah Park. NASA astronaut and Pittsfield native Stephanie Wilson, the second African-American woman to venture into space, will serve as grand marshal. In astronaut Wilson's honor, this year's parade theme is "Reach for the Stars," a theme that is creatively explored reflected in the many floats and giant balloons -- including one of Curious George in a spacesuit and another of Apollo 13 -- that are part of this year's parade. In addition, over twenty marching bands and dance groups are in the parade from the Connecticut Patriots Sr. Ancient Fife & Drum Corp to the Brazilian rhythms of the Berkshire Bateria. The Pittsfield Dukes game that was scheduled for 6:30 against the Manchester Silkworms has been cancelled to impending rain and thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon, the game will be played Monday evening. The fireworks will be rescheduled for Saturday evening to follow the game against the Torrington Twisters at 7 p.m. 6:30 p.m.: Following the baseball matchup of the Pittsfield Dukes v. the Manchester Silkworms, fireworks will light up the sky at Wahconah Park. North Adams: This event has been rescheduled for Sunday Night, July 8th after the scheduled SteepleCats Game at 6:30 p.m., the fireworks should take place about 9:30 p.m. 6:30 p.m.: After the North Adams SteepleCats take on the Torrington Twisters at Joe Wolfe Field, a fireworks display will follow at about 9:30 p.m. Lenox: Fireworks will follow the New Cars concert at Tanglewood. Tickets for The New Cars on July 4 at Tanglewood are priced at $21, $43, and $66, and are on sale through SymphonyCharge at 888-266-1200 or online at www.tanglewood.org.

Friends of Great Barrington Libraries Holiday Book Sale

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — The Friends of Great Barrington Libraries invite the community to shop their annual Holiday Good-as-New Book Sale, happening now through the end of the year at the Mason Library, 231 Main Street. 
 
With hundreds of curated gently used books to choose from—fiction, nonfiction, children's favorites, gift-quality selections, cookbooks, and more—it's the perfect local stop for holiday gifting.
 
This year's sale is an addition to the Southern Berkshire Chamber of Commerce's Holiday Stroll on this Saturday, Dec. 13, 3–8 PM. Visitors can swing by the Mason Library for early parking, browse the sale until 3:00 PM, then meet Pete the Cat on the front lawn before heading downtown for the Stroll's shopping, music, and festive eats.
 
Can't make the Holiday Stroll? The book sale is open during regular Mason Library hours throughout December.
 
Proceeds support free library programming and events for all ages.
