Williamstown Church Presents Children's Christmas Play

Print Story | Email Story

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Community Bible Church will present its annual children's Christmas musical on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 6 and 7, at 6 p.m. in the church at 160 Bridges Road.

This year features 20 area children singing and dancing their way through "We Three Spies." Agents E, L and F are recruits with the CIK (Christmas Intelligence Kids), a covert group of spies who secretly bring Christmas cheer to the needy. But this year they’re facing an especially difficult challenge: keeping Ms. Harriet (pronounced “Har-ret”) King, a Scrooge-like landlord, from evicting them from their headquarters, confiscating donations and cancelling their Christmas Nativity program. It takes a little expert espionage and a lot of God’s unconditional love for Ms. King to change her tune as she finally joins the CIK and the entire town in a musical celebration of the true meaning of Jesus’ birth.

The production is directed by Connie Sheehy and Amy Sanchez, with directorial assistance by Lori Kapiloff and Julie Gill, costumes by Gill, Jane Sebborn and Tammy Wright, scenery by Gail Duncan, sound by Phyllis Babcock, Joshua Duncan, Dave Jolin and Krista Jolin and lights by Dave Jolin and Rebecca Dravis.

The children in the show are: Brooke Bishop, Hunter Bishop, Abby Clairmont, Nick Clairmont, Noelle Dravis, Lainey Gill, Nathan Gill, Talia Kapiloff, Ben Kapiloff, Annie Miller, Lauren Miller, Julia Ross, Andres Sanchez, Gracie Sanchez, Abigail Scholl, Tristan School, Jacob Shustack, Joel Shustack, Lydia Shustack, Savannah Shustack and Isabella Tournabene.

Refreshments will be served in the lobby after the show. Everyone is welcome. For more information, call 413-458-5556.

2025 Year in Sports: Mount Greylock Girls Track Was County's Top Story

By Stephen DravisiBerkshires Staff
Mount Greylock Regional School did not need an on-campus track to be a powerhouse.

But it did not hurt.

In the same spring that it held its first meets on its new eight-lane track, Mount Greylock won its second straight Division 6 State Championship to become the story of the year in high school athletics in Berkshire County.

"It meant so much this year to be able to come and compete on our own track and have people come here – especially having Western Mass here, it's such a big meet,"Mounties standout Katherine Goss said at the regional meet in late May. "It's nice to win on our own track.”

A week later at the other end of the commonwealth, Goss placed second in the triple jump and 100-meter hurdles and third in the 400 hurdles to help the Mounties finish nearly five points ahead of the field.

Her teammates Josephine Bay, Cornelia Swabey, Brenna Lopez and Vera de Jong ran circles around the competition with a nine-second win in the 4-by-800 relay. And the Mounties placed second in the 4-by-400 relay while picking up a third-place showing from Nora Lopez in the javelin.

Mount Greylock's girls won a third straight Western Mass Championship on the day the school's boys team claimed a fourth straight title. At states, the Mounties finished fifth in Division 6.
