Price Chopper Supermarkets is taking part in a national recall of beef supplied to them from the ConAgra Beef Company.
Price Chopper officials in Schenectady NY said yesterday that the recall was entirely voluntary and no contaminated beef had been found at any Price Chopper locations.
Price Chopper officials said they're recalling fresh ground beef with specific "sell-by" dates between June 5 and July 1. This ground beef may be contaminated with Ecoli bacteria.
Any customer who purchased ground beef with these "sell-by" dates should return it to Price Chopper for a refund.
In the Berkshires, Price Chopper operates stores in Pittsfield, North Adams, Lenox, Great Barrington and Lee.
