Friday Front Porch Feature: Own Your Very Own Castle

By Breanna SteeleiBerkshires Staff

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Are you looking for a "castle" to call your home? Then this might be the place for you.

Our Friday Front Porch is a weekly feature spotlighting attractive homes for sale in Berkshire County. This week, we are showcasing 7 Lincoln St.

This 1910 home has two bedrooms and one full bathroom and one partial bath. It is 1,506 square feet.

Featuring distinctive lions in the front welcoming you to the stone home with curved windows, it is known famously as "the castle on Lincoln Street."

The home features hardwood floors, vintage details, and an open concept between the living, dining, and kitchen areas. The two closets in the second bedroom are in the process of being converted into one.

The house also has a fenced in back yard to enjoy. While some renovation is still needed, it's open for a new buyer to come and make their own.

The house is on the market for $185,000.

We spoke to the current owner and Jonathan Vella with Lamacchia Realty, Inc.

What do you think makes this house stand out in the current market?

This is a beautiful building — it stands out just the way it is. It's The Castle! Great history and aesthetic.

What would you say to a buyer trying to imagine their life in this space?

Smaller efficient house with lots of potential. Big bedrooms, open concept, and the enclosed lovely backyard space. Almost raw space to apply your vision board dreams.
