Great Barrington to Hold Earth Day Cleanup

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — To commemorate Earth Day this year, Great Barrington invites residents to join a roadside cleanup on Saturday, April 23, 8 a.m.-noon throughout Great Barrington and the Housatonic village.

Earth Day is the day before, April 22.

The town will provide free refuse bags, which can be picked up at Town Hall and Mason Library downtown and at Ramsdell Library in Housatonic, on clean-up day. The town will collect those that are filled and left along roadsides.

"This is a great opportunity for a community Earth Day event, and we hope everyone will come out for an hour or more to join neighbors in this cleanup," said Town Manager Mark Pruhenski.

Participants are reminded to remain safe by wearing bright clothing and plastic or rubber gloves.
