Northern Berkshire Youth Baseball Registration, Tryouts Saturday

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Northern Berkshire Youth Baseball will hold its annual tryouts and accept player registrations on Saturday at MCLA’s Amsler Campus Center Gymnasium.
 
Evaluations for the Minors Division (players 7 to 10) will be from 5 to 6 p.m.
 
Tryouts for the Majors Division (9-12) wil be from 6:15 to 7:30 and for the Senior Division (13-15) from 7:30 to 8:45.
 
Players are asked to bring a glove and, if they have one, a bat.
 
High school players are encouraged to participate in both Seniors and high school ball as they will not conflict.

North Adams Double Murder Case Continued to March

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The case of a city man charged with killing his parents was continued to March on Monday.
 
Darius Hazard, 44, was scheduled for a detention hearing on Monday in Northern Berkshire District Court.
 
Prior to the start of the court's business, the clerk announced that Hazard's case was continued to Monday, March 2.
 
Hazard is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of arson in connection with the Nov. 24 fire that claimed the lives of Donald Hazard, 83, and Venture Hazard, 76.
 
Police say Hazard confessed to the killings and starting the fire and fled the Francis Street home where he lived with his parents.
