Paper City Oaks Fall in First Round of NABLL Tourney

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The Paper City Oaks Saturday dropped a 4-3 decision in the North American Box Lacrosse League Championship.
 
The Oaks fell to the Collar City Kings of Utica, N.Y., 4-3.
 
Cobie Cree, Daylon Skidders and Camden Smith each scored a goal for the Holyoke-based squad at the Toca Soccer Center.
 
The loss dropped the Oaks into a consolation game against the Ignite of Nashville, Tenn.
 
The Ignite prevailed, 11-10.
 
Kyden Burns, Matt Huggett and Keaton Thomas each scored a pair of goals for Paper City.
 
Billy O'Neill of Cummington scored a goal in the loss to the Ignite.
 
The Oaks on Friday earned a 7-3 win over the Austin, Texas, Scorpions in the tournament's pool play phase.
 
Derek Yannone and Dalston Day each scored a pair of goals in the win for Paper City.
 
The Westminster, Md., Wild won the NABLL title with a 9-1 victory over the Thousand Island Spirit of Alexandria Bay, N.Y., in Sunday's final.
