North Adams Public Schools Announce Postgraduate Scholarship Opportunities for Drury High Graduates

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — North Adams Public Schools is offering three postgraduate scholarship funds for college students who graduated from Drury High School and are currently enrolled in a four-year college.

The application deadline for all scholarships is June 1st. Applicants require a Google account to apply online and submit their transcript electronically.

The available scholarships are:

  • The Charles & Olivina Perron Memorial Scholarship: Open to any college student attending a four-year college.
  • The Mortimer P. Howard Memorial Scholarship: Open to college students entering their junior or senior year of college.
  • The H.H. Gadsby Memorial Scholarship: Open to any college student attending a four-year college.

SteepleCats Rally Late for Road Win

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. -- Owen Arias hit a two-out, two run single in the top of the seventh to erase a 5-4 deficit and send the North Adams SteepleCats on to a 6-5 win over Upper Valley in New England Collegiate Baseball League action on Friday.
 
Alex Barrist and Evan Meier singled to start the winning rally. And Sebastian Rhoades hit a sacrifice fly to center before Nelphie Lopez worked a walk to load the bases with two out.
 
Richie Kerstetter earned the win on the mound with six strikeouts in four innings of shutout relief of starter Kellen Moore.
 
Barrist led North Adams' offense, going 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles. Meier was 3-for-4 at the plate, and Nicholas LoBello doubled and scored a run.
 
The SteepleCats (4-12), winners of three straight games, are in Lynn on Saturday afternoon to play the North Shore Navigators.
