Westfield Holds Off Pittsfield Babe Ruth 13s for Western Mass Title

WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Westfield 13-year-old Babe Ruth All-Stars Tuesday rallied for four runs in the bottom of the sixth to break open a close game and take a 9-3 win from Pittsfield in the title game of the Western Massachusetts Championship.

Collin Taylor and Jackson Barnes each went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead a seven-hit attack for Westfield.

Isaac Acevedo went 2-for-3 with a double to lead Pittsfield, which fought back to tie the game after falling behind, 2-0, and scored a run in the top of the fi fth to cut into a 5-2 deficit.

Both Pittsfield and Westfield move on to the New England Regional Championship, scheduled for July 25-29 at Wahconah Park.

North Adams Man Pleade Not Guilty to Father's Murder

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — David Louis Boucher, who is accused of killing his father, pleaded not guilty Monday in Berkshire Superior Court.

Boucher, 48, was indicted on one count of murder and two counts of larceny.

In May 2026, Boucher allegedly stabbed his father, 67-year-old David Allen Boucher, and left him for dead in his home at 256 Walnut St. The younger Boucher lived downstairs and his father upstairs in the multi-family home.

Boucher admitted to killing his father a week later, shortly before police located the body.

At the time of the arrest, a clear motive was not established, though the Berkshire District Attorney's office suggested it may have involved a gambling debt. Authorities noted there may have also been a mental health component.

Boucher is set to appear in court again in April.

Boucher is currently being held without bail at the Berkshire County House of Correction.
