No One Injured in Mass Ave Truck Collision

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — According to North Adams 911, firefighters, police, and emergency medical services were dispatched to Massachusetts Avenue between Ashton and Protection avenues late Wednesday, around 9 p.m.
 
A westbound truck veered from its lane, striking the rear quarter panel of an eastbound truck and spinning it 180 degrees.
 
One tire was ripped off the westbound truck and rolled approximately 40 yards before coming to a stop near a utility pole.
 
Although there were no injuries, both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Big Weekend for Greylock Thunder Softball Program

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – The Greylock Thunder 16U travel softball team Sunday rolled over its competition for three wins to complete a 5-0 weekend in a round-robin event at Alcombright Field.
 
Avery Lane struck out four and scattered four hits in a complete-game, four-inning effort in Greylock’s 10-0 win over the Columbia County (N.Y). Reds.
 
Evy Clairmont went 2-for-2 with a triple, Genevieve Lagess was 2-for-3 with a double in the win. Bayleigh Tatro also doubled, and Gianna Witek was 2-for-3 at the plate.
 
The Thunder’s Sunday started with a 10-3 win over the Latham (N.Y.) Lynx.
 
Kendall Moran was 2-for-3 with a triple, and Reagan Walker tripled in a run in the win. Lagess led the offense, going 3-for-4 with a double and four RBIs.
 
Witek earned the win in the circle, striking out five and allowing no earned runs in five innings.
 
Moran handled the pitching in the weekend-ending 12-1 win over Greenfield’s Valley Storm.
