Florence M. Carsno, 101
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Florence Mary Carsno, 101, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008, at North Adams Commons.
Born in North Adams on Jan. 23, 1907, daughter of William and Rose Martin Duverney, she attended local schools including the former Notre Dame school. She lived in Baton Rouge, La., for 15 years before moving back to North Adams in 2007.
Mrs. Carsno was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co., retiring in 1969. She was a devoted homemaker and a member of the Sprague Retirees club.
Her husband, Harold L. Carsno Sr., whom she married Oct. 22, 1923, died Feb. 9, 1983.
She leaves three daughters, Elizabeth "Betty" Jordan, Phyllis Lapine and Margaret "Peggy" MacDonald, all of North Adams; two sons, Edward Carsno of North Adams and Ralph Carsno of Zachary, La.; a sister, Dorothy Trimarchi of North Adams; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Catherine Beliveau; two sons, Harold Carsno Jr. and Leo Carsno, who died in infancy; and three grandchildren, Steven Carsno, Robert Beliveau and Sandra Cramer; two sisters, Mary Lefebvre and Valida Loszynski, and two brothers, Leo and Wilford Carsno.
FUNERAL NOTICE - Services for Mrs. Carsno will take place Monday at 11 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams.
Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested for North Adams Commons through the funeral home.
