NORTHAMPTON, Mass. -- Shane Fuller scored two goals to lead the McCann Tech boys soccer team to a 4-0 win over Smith Voc on Friday afternoon.

"This was an important game for both teams," McCann coach Tom Bona said. "McCann needed it to clinch the Tri County North division and Smith needed it to get into Western Mass tournament."

Chris Gajda made nine saves to earn the shutout in the Hornets' goal, and Bona singled out Nate Charon and Trejan Skiffington for their contributions on defense.

Fuller got the scoring going when he converted a penalty kick 28 minutes into the game. Seven minutes later, he converted an assist from Mike Moreno to make it 2-0.

In the second half, McCann got goals from Steve Lemire and Jon Leal.

"For McCann this was a great team effort and win," Bona said. "This is the second year in a row we won the Tri County North."

McCann (11-4-1) hosts Putnam on Tuesday.
