SHEFFIELD, Mass. – Mount Everett senior Emily Steuernagle scored a goal and assisted on two more Friday to lead the Eagles to a 3-0 win over Lee.

Ainsley Krans and Ella Gennari scored the other two goals, and senior keeper Emma Wilson made four saves to earn the shutout.

Mount Everett coach Joshua King was reflective about the milestone for Steuernagle, Wilson and classmates Allison Steuernagle, Julia Devoti, Tonilyn Smith and Megan Loring.

“The hardest part of coaching is seeing your seniors play their last game sometimes,” King said. “You never know when that will happen (hopefully it's ending in a title game) but you never know, and I've really enjoyed coaching my 6 seniors over the past 4-5 years. I've watched them struggle at times to be competitive, seen them persevere in tough times, and seen happiness on their faces which is what coaching is really about.

“I could not be prouder of what they've accomplished as individuals and a team and know the legacy they have left is a great one.”

Maddie Kotek made 19 saves for Lee (1-9), which goes to St. Mary’s on Monday.

Mount Everett (8-3-3) hosts Smith Academy on Sunday.
