Mount Everett Girls Hand McCann Tech First Loss

SHEFFIELD, Mass. -- Three different players scored for the Mount Everett girls soccer team in a 3-0 win over McCann Tech on Tuesday.
 
Madeline VonRuden scored midway through the first half on an assist from Emily Coon to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead at half-time.
 
"It took about 10 minutes for the girls to get into the game, but once they did, it went really well," Mount Everett coach Jess Murtagh said. "They were moving the ball around the field extremely well."
 
In the second half, Marion Devoti and Chelsea Balestro each scored off restarts.
 
Madison Ullrich needed to make just three saves for Mount Everett (5-1) to earn her third shutout of the season.
 
"The defensive line played a very phenomenal game, especially our sweeper, Maura Robitaille," Murtagh said. "We also got some really good minutes from the bench today."
 
Alanza Quinones made seven saves for the Hornets (5-1-1), who host Renaissance on Thursday.
 
Mount Everett goes to Taconic on Thursday.
