McCann Boys Win in Westfield

WESTFIELD, Mass. -- The McCann Tech cross country traveled to yesterday to face St Mary's and Mahar on a 3.1-mile course at Stanley Park.  
St Mary's was forced to forfeit, but the competition was intense between McCann and Mahar.
 
The McCann boys took first, second and third place, beating Mahar 26-30 in points. Jerry McCarthy placed first overall and first for McCann with a time of 20 minutes, 9 seconds. He was followed by Lukas Yelle with a time of 20:29 and Cory Hartly with a time of 20:36.
 
On the girls side, Aubrey Tetlow finished first for McCann and third overall with a time of 27:03 and Dakota Hurley finished with a time of 31:51. Injuries and illness prevented the other three McCann girls from running.
 
The Hornets next face Granby and Putnam at Putnam on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015 at 4 p.m.
