Meisberger Shines at B.C. Invitational

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Lenox’s Shannon Meisberger was a triple winner at the season-opening Berkshire County Invitational Track and Field Meet at Monument Mountain.

Meisberger won the 100 meter hurdles in 15.70 seconds, beating the field by nearly two seconds. She followed that up with a 2.4-second winning margin in the 400 hurdles, where she won in 1:08.70.

In the field, Meisberger won the long jump in 15 feet, 3 inches.

Lenox’s girls won eight events in all.

The Millionaires captured the 4-by-800 relay and picked up individual wins from Alice Naimy in the 1,600 (5:44.20), Maggie Sorrentino in the 800 (2:28.60), Emma Jourdain in the 3,200 (12:02.40) and Tova Brown in the high jump (4-10.01).

On the boys side, Hoosac Valley’s Jared Haley and Peter Barrow were double winners.

Haley won the mile in 4:50.70 and the 2-mile in 10:34. Barrow won the shot put with a mark of 43 feet and the discus (122-2).

Wahconah’s Devon Mikaniewicz picked up two wins in the jumps. He won the long jump in 18-6 and the triple jump in 40-0.50.
