Shepardson, Lenox Walk Off With Win over McCann Tech

LENOX, Mass. – Zach Nicotra scored from second on an error in the bottom of the seventh Monday to give the Lenox baseball team a 5-4 win over McCann Tech.
 
Nicotra started the winning rally when he led off and reached on an error. He then went to second when Brendan Armstrong worked a walk.
 
After the Hornets retired a batter, Max Shepardson hit a groundball to the left side that was mishandled, allowing Nicotra to come home with the winning run.
 
Michael Butler went 1-for-3 and drove in a pair of runs for Lenox, which went ahead, 3-1, with three runs in the bottom of the fourth.
 
It was 4-1, Millionaires going to the sixth before McCann Tech rallied to tie it.
 
Dom DeMayo hit a three-run triple to center in the top of the sixth to make it 4-1.
 
Three different pitchers combined to strike out seven for McCann Tech. Ty Barrett had four Ks in 2-? innings of work.
 
Shepardson went the distance on the mound for Lenox, striking out two, walking none and allowing four earned runs.
 
The Millionaires (8-4) are at Hoosac Valley on Tuesday.
 
McCann Tech (8-4) hosts Mount Everett on Tuesday.
