Spartans Move to 10-0, Qualify for State Tourney

OSTERVILLE, Mass. – The Monument Mountain boys basketball team Saturday traveled across the state and qualified for the state tournament.
 
Khalil Carlson scored 27 points, and Isaiah Keefner scored 23 as the Spartans beat Cape Cod Academy, 93-60, to improve to 10-0 this winter and punch their ticket to the Division 4 State Tournament.
 
According to the first MIAA in-season power rankings of the winter, Monument Mountain was the third-ranked team in D4.
 
It went wire to wire with the lead on Saturday with four players finishing in double figures and one just missing.
 
Sebastian Guete-Ramirez scored 13 points. Manny Brown had 11. And Griffin McElroy knocked down three 3-pointers for nine points.
 
Monument Mountain Tuesday hosts Baystate Academy.
