SHEFFIELD, Mass. – Autumn Sicard scored 10 points Thursday to lead the Granby girls basketball team to a 30-26 win over Mount Everett.

The loss comes on the heels of a two-point at St. Mary’s in the Eagles’ last outing.

“We ended up losing, 30-26, but I was impressed with the play of everyone and the grit we showed as a collective group,” Mount Everett coach Joshua King said. Our younger players fill in when needed and are a nice complement to our older players as they continue to lead by example on and off the court. I am reminding the girls daily it's a long process and not just a sprint.”

Makayla Carpenter scored 13 points, and Emily Steuernagle added nine for the Eagles.

Mount Everett (0-3) hosts Ludlow on Dec. 22.
