SHEFFIELD, Mass. – Makayla Carpenter Friday scored 12 points to lead the Mount Everett girls basketball team to a 30-26 win over Ludlow.

The Eagles held Luclow to just 15 points through three quarters of play in picking up their first win of the season.

“Great back and forth game tonight and we were finally able as a team to come out with a win,” Mount Everett coach Joshua King said. “Gutsy performance by a lot of our players and we were able to grind out and finish on a positive note before break.

“I saw significant changes in how we handled the press and when we were able to take a deep breath and relax better opportunities arose.”

Emily Steuernagle scored eight points, and Aliyah Creamer added six for the Eagles.

Mount Everett (1-3) is off until next Friday when it travels to Southwick.
