CLARK ART - SUR MARICA: A MOBILE CARTOGRAPHY OF ART, SEX, AFFECT, AND COLLABORATION

Luis Vargas-Santiago discusses how queer artists in Latin American capitals during the 1980s and 1990s challenged traditional formations of the body and sexuality. PITTSFIELD CITYJAZZ FESTIVAL: JAZZ JAM
Pittsfield, 7 p.m.

The 20th annual festival kicks-off with a jam session on April 17, at Hot Plate Brewing Co., 1 School Street, Pittsfield. Pianist and leader Dave Bartley hosts the open jam session, with local musicians invited to bring their own instruments and sit it. Berkshires Jazz has learned that Hot Plate will be introducing a special brew to honor the occasion.

THE GHOSTS OF BROADHALL: A GHOST TOUR AND PARANORMAL INVESTIGATION OF THE COUNTRY CLUB OF PITTSFIELD

Robert Oakes, ghost tour guide and author of Ghosts of the Berkshires, will team up with paranormal investigator Drew Babineau, owner of The Haunted Raven, to offer a combined ghost tour and paranormal investigation of the Country Club of Pittsfield, hosted by the Berkshire County Historical Society. Tickets for this three-hour combined ghost tour and investigation are $50 per person and may be purchased by using the BOOK NOW button at  berkshirehistory.org. A portion of the proceeds will benefit BCHS.

BOWMEN AT THE STATIONERY FACTOR

Led by veteran songwriter Bow Thayer and featuring guitarist Krishna Guthrie, the band BOWMEN performs a genre-blurring set drawn from Thayer’s 40-year musical catalog. This performance at The Stationery Factory offers a fresh reimagining of classic material for local audiences.
