James A. Delisle, 82
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - James A. "Champ" Delisle, 82, of 29 Walker St. died on Sunday, June 23, 2013, at his home.
Born in North Adams on March 8, 1931, son of Henry and Viola Belleau Delisle, he attended the former Notre Dame School and graduated from Drury High School in 1949.
He was a member of the Massachusetts Army National Guard.
Mr. Delisle was employed for many years at the former Sprague Electric Co.'s Brown Street plant. He was last employed at Williams College in the Building and Grounds Department.
He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth's Church and attended St. Patrick's Church in Williamstown. He loved model trains, fishing and woodworking. Most of all he was a devoted Boston Red Sox fan.
His wife, the former Theodora Rotolo, died on Feb. 28, 2012. They were married on Sept. 20, 1952, in the former St. Anthony's Church.
He leaves one daughter, Elizabeth Malloy and her husband, Alan Blier, of Clarksburg; a son, Daniel Delisle of North Adams; three brothers, Richard Delisle, John Delisle and Edward "Ted" Delisle, all of North Adams; grandchildren, Michael Delisle, Katelyn Malloy and her fiance Logan Maestri, Kelsey Malloy, Mitchell Malloy and Kara Delisle, three great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers Michael Delisle and Robert Delisle.
FUNERAL NOTICE - The funeral for Mr. Delisle will be held Friday, June 28, at 11 from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Thursday, June 27, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested for the Berkshire Humane Society through the funeral home.
