Laura E. Cardinal, 85
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Laura E. Cardinal, 85, a North Adams native, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, at Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown.
Born in North Adams on June 21, 1928, daughter of Arthur F. and Clara M. Lively Cardinal, she attended local schools.
Miss Cardinal was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. for 40 years in the North Adams and Worcester plants, as well as in the San Antonio and Wichita Falls, Texas, operations. She retired in 1988.
She relocated from Texas to Florida in 1999 and returned to North Adams in 2008. She enjoyed travel and communicating with her family and many friends. While in Florida, she volunteered with the St. Vincent de Paul Free Meals program in Clearwater.
She leaves two sisters, Mary Guest and Rose Delisle, both of North Adams; two brothers, Charles H. Cardinal of North Adams and Norman Cardinal of Largo, Fla., and nieces and nephews.
Her sisters Irene Castonguay, late of Worcester, and Elizabeth Menard, late of Largo, and her brother, Francis Cardinal, late of North Adams, predeceased her.
FUNERAL NOTICE - A Memorial Mass for Miss Cardinal will be celebrated Monday, Sept. 23, at 11 from St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
