Ethan J. Piaggi-Cornell, 22

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Ethan James Piaggi-Cornell, 22, of Pittsfield died Thursday, July 28, 2016, at Berkshire Medical Center-North Adams as a result of an automobile accident in Adams.
He was born in Pittsfield on November 30, 1993, son of David Allan Cornell and Donna Marie Piaggi. He attended Cheshire Elementary School and BART Charter School and graduated from Hoosac Valley Regional High School with the class of 2012. He also attended Berkshire Community College.
Ethan was employed at Arizona Pizza in Lanesboro and also worked at That's a Wrap.
He attended the Unitarian Church in Pittsfield and was a member of its youth group. In his youth, Ethan was a Boy Scout with Pittsfield Troop #1 for several years and played youth football and baseball. At Hoosac Valley, he was a member of the football and track teams.
Ethan enjoyed gardening, kayaking, fishing, hiking and skiing and was a ski instructor at Jiminy Peak. Ethan especially enjoyed spending time with his family, camping and playing bocce. Ethan was a humble, giving and kind person who will be missed by everyone who loved him.
Survivors include his mother, Donna Marie Piaggi of Adams; his father and stepmother, David Allan Cornell and Cheryl Cornell of Dalton; three stepbrothers and stepsisters, Nicole March, Ryan March and Lindsay Gardiner; his maternal grandfather, Raymond Piaggi of North Adams; his longtime partner with whom he lived, Staci Cutting; several aunts, uncles and cousins, including Adrian, Julian and Galen Ziaggi and Matthew Gyurasz; and his nieces Alyssa Bartlett and Emily Adams.
Funeral notice: Calling hours for Ethan Piaggi Cornell will be Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main St., North Adams.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, Aug. 5, 2016, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Pittsfield State Forest. Memorial donations may be made to the Unitarian Universalist Church of Pittsfield Youth Group; the Western Mass Council of the Boy Scouts; the Hoosac Valley Football or Track Booster Clubs or the Cheshire Little League in care of the funeral home.
