NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Ronald Militello, 72, of North Adams, Mass., died Thursday, May 18, 2017, at North Adams Commons.

He was born in Paterson, N.J., on August 4, 1944, son of the Late Andrew Salvatore Militello and Eva (Knab) Militello. He attended schools in Wayne, N.J., and graduated from Wayne Valley High School.  He also attended the University of Miami and graduated from West Palm Beach Community College.

Ronald was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the U.S. Air Force.

He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Ronald was an avid collector of precious gems and minerals. He also enjoyed shooting and received medals for his marksmanship while in the military.

His wife was Diane Marie (Pillitteri) Militello; she died on February 20, 2014. They were married on September 7, 1980.

Survivors include one son, Michael Andrew Militello and his wife Sunny of North Adams; and one grandson, Ian Michael Militello.  

He was predeceased by his half brother, Norman Bedell.

Funeral notice: A private graveside service with military honors will be held in Southview Cemetery.  There are no calling hours. Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals is in charge of the arrangements.
