Jean Bissaillon, 77

CHESHIRE, Mass. — Mrs. Jean Mary (Hespelein) Bissaillon, 77, of Cheshire died on Friday, June 2, 2017, at Hillcrest Commons in Pittsfield surrounded by her family. 

She was born in Pittsfield on August 10, 1939, a daughter of the late George and Irene (Hood) Hespelein. She attended schools in Pittsfield and graduated from Pittsfield High School with the class of 1957. 

Jean worked for many years at Val's Variety in Adams until she retired. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. 

Her husband, Robert Bissaillon, whom she married on January 25, 1991, died on September 9, 2002. 

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Mayer and her fiancé James Jarvis and by her son Theodore Stachura, all of Cheshire; three brothers, John Hespelein of Dalton, Richard Hespelein of Pittsfield and Charles Hespelein of Berlin, N.Y.; two sisters, Irene Hebert of Pittsfield and Barbara Brophy of Dalton; and many nieces and nephews. 

She was predeceased by a brother, George Hespelein; and by a sister, Marion Kelly. She was also predeceased by her first husband, Richard Stachura, who died on April 15, 2004. 

Funeral notice: The funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams. Rev. Steven Montesanti, Pastor of the Parish of St. John Paul II, Adams, will officiate. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. 

Calling hours are Tuesday, June 6, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Adams Ambulance Service, 185 Columbia St., Adams, MA 01220 or to Pop Cares, P.O. Box 482, Williamstown, MA 01267.

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss.Jean was always so welcoming when you went into Val's. She always had a smile on her face and very eager to help you. My Mom went to Val's everyday on her daily walks. I hope you find comfort in knowing she was known by many and loved by all. Rest in Peace, Jean.
