Jean L. Hall, 83

BENNINGTON, Vt. — Jean Lois Hall, a resident of B Hill Road, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, June 4, 2017, at Sweet Brook Nursing Home in Williamstown, Mass. She was 83.

The daughter of Wilbert and Helen (Robertson) Wheaton, she was born in Winchester, Mass., on December 12, 1933. Jean attended Malden (Mass.) schools, graduating from Malden High School, Class of 1951. She continued her education, attending Melrose-Wakefield Hospital School of Nursing, graduating with her R.N. degree in 1954. As a dedicated and professional nurse, she returned to school and obtained her BSN in 1985 from Worcester State College. Jean had worked at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, New England Baptist Hospital, Emerson Hospital, Nashoba Nursing Service and Rutland (Vt.) Visiting Nurses Association.

Jean was a communicant of Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church in Bennington, she went on many retreats at the Weston Priory and enjoyed personal Bible study and leading Bible study groups. Jean especially enjoyed her cats and spending time with her grandchildren , as well as tending to her house plants and reading.

She leaves her sons, Peter Hall and wife Amy of Pownal, Vt., and Robert Hall and wife Debbie of West Newbury, Mass.; and grandchildren Hannah E. Hall, Katherine A. Hall, Andrew B. Hall and Tamara E. Hall.

She was predeceased by her brother David Wheaton.

Funeral notice: The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 8, 2017, at 11 a.m. from Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church. A memorial reception will follow in the Parish Hall. Private burial will take place at the Weston Priory. Memorial gifts may be made to the Weston Priory or Lumiere Medical Ministries in Haiti in care of the Hanson Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home, 213 West Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
