Anthony 'Ed' Allison, 53

ADAMS, Mass. — Mr. Anthony Edward "Ed" Allison, 53, of Burlingame, Calif., formerly of Adams, died on Saturday, July 22, 2017, in California.

He was born in North Adams on February 7, 1964, son of Augustus Edward Allison of the state of Florida and Patricia (Hamilton) O'Neil and her husband Donald of North Adams and Uncle Patrick Hamilton of New York. He attended schools in Adams and graduated from Hoosac Valley High School with the class of 1982.

He was a self-made entrepreneur having owned and operated several businesses in California, mostly on Market Street in downtown San Francisco. He loved reading and artwork, especially drawing.

Besides his parents, he is survived by two sons, Robert Allison of Los Angeles, Calif., and Edward "Eddie" Allison of Antioch, Calif.; one brother, James Hamilton and his wife Brenda of Adams; two sisters, Tracy Baker and her wife Lisa Trumble of Westborough, Mass., and Dawn Wright and her companion Paul Nowicki of North Adams; one grandson, Mason Allison of California; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral notice: Funeral services and burial will be private for the family. Tony will be laid to rest in Bellevue Cemetery for anyone who would like to pay their respects at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Ed's son Eddie through a GoFundMe page.
