Loretta A. Morey, 93

ADAMS, Mass. — Mrs. Loretta Anita (Brazeau) Morey, 93, of Adams died Friday afternoon, September 29, 2017, at Williamstown Commons.

She was born in North Adams on July 4, 1924, a daughter of the late Alfred and Angelina (Patenaude) Brazeau. She attended schools in Pittsfield and graduated from Pittsfield High School. Mrs. Morey was employed by General Electric Co. in Pittsfield, and later, for over 30 years at the former W.R. Grace Co. in Adams.

After retiring, she volunteered for many years in the Adams school system. She was very devoted to her immediate family and her extended family of nieces and nephews. She was very well read and worldly in her outlook and lifestyle. For many years, she enjoyed the friendship and camaraderie of her swimming group at the YMCA.

Her husband, Bernard Morey, whom she married on June 18, 1949, died on Sept. 29, 1998.

She leaves four sons, Christopher Morey and his wife, Laura, of Adams, Michael Morey and his wife, Julia, of Cheshire, Timothy Morey and his wife, Cathleen, of Lee, and Peter Morey of New York, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Misha and her husband, Michael Cornacchioli, of Worcester, Kaylee of Lee, Nicholas of Pittsfield, and Matthew of Adams; as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Marissa Morey; her brothers Ernest, Lionel, Raymond and Norman Brazeau; and her sister, Florence Pastore.

Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at 11 a.m. in Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, Adams, celebrated by Rev. Steven Montesanti, Pastor. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Relatives and friends are invited.

There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Parish of St. John Paul II, PO Box 231, Adams, MA 01220; or to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701. The Paciorek Funeral Home, Adams, is in charge of arrangements.
