Eleanor Robare, 90

STAMFORD, Vt. — Eleanor "Jane" (Begiebing) Robare, 90, of Stamford, Vt., died Friday, December 15, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in North Adams, Mass., on March 25, 1927, she was the daughter of Emil and Eola (Collins) Begiebing. Jane attended schools in North Adams graduating from Drury High School in 1944. She went on to attend Bliss Business College and North Adams State Teachers College. Jane worked in the office at James Hunter Machine Company and in addition served as a freelance journalist for the North Adams Transcript reporting local Vermont news stories until 1966 when she accepted the position of Histology Technician in the Laboratory of the North Adams Regional Hospital. Jane retired from that position in 1989, but continued working part-time in the same profession at the hospital for the next 16 years.
She was a communicant of St. John Bosco Church in Stamford, Vt., serving as lector and organist and was also a member of its St. Anne Society. Jane loved to sing and had a beautiful voice; she also loved dancing and was an excellent baker, especially her apple pies. She was a most loving, devoted and thoughtful wife and mother and loved gathering with her children and grandchildren. Jane also enjoyed homemaking, reading, knitting and swimming.
She leaves her beloved husband of 70 years, Edward "Carl" Robare, whom she married on June 21, 1947; a son and daughter-in-law, Bruce C. and Christine A. Robare of Stamford, Vt.; a daughter and son-in-law, Judith R. and Douglas R. Manchester of Concord, Mass.; three grandchildren, Christian Manchester, Hilary Manchester and Morgan Manchester; three step-grandchildren, Jessica (Holmes) Tatro, Stephany (Holmes) Onorato and Allyson Holmes; three step-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Barbara Begiebing of Jacksonville, Vt.; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by a sister, Doris Baird; and a brother Emil Begiebing.
Funeral notice: A Memorial Mass for Jane Robare at St. John Bosco Church will be at a time to be announced in the spring. Burial will be in Clarksburg Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
