PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. — William Edward Murphy, originally of North Adams and Williamstown, Mass., died Saturday, January 13, 2018, at home. He was 94 years old.  

William was the son of the late Marie Tatro Murphy and William Murphy Sr. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Joyce Walter Murphy, 94 years old; two daughters, Linda Marie Brule and Carol Ann Kurpiel; four grandchildren, Jeff Brule, Derick Kurpiel, Emily Henrich and Ashley Kurpiel; and eight great-grandchildren, Mason, Parker, Mia, Oliver, Margaret, Claire, Tess and Camile. 

He met his wife while serving in the military in England during World War II.  They would have celebrated their 73 anniversary on March 17.

They were both living and cared for at the home of their daughter, Carol, and son-in-law, Fred Kurpiel, in Peachtree City, Ga.
