ADAMS, Mass. — Earl F. Hartwig, 92, of Adams, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at the North Adams Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Adams on December 3, 1925, he was the son of the late Rhinehold and Laura Charbonneau Hartwig and attended Adams schools. Earl was a communicant of Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church in Adams. He was a well-known artist and was a WWII Navy Veteran serving in the Pacific Theatre.

Earl was the last of his immediate family. He is survived by his caregiver, Bonnie Whitney of North Adams, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral notice: Services and burial will be will be at a later date to be announced in the spring in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams. There are no calling hours. The Trottier Pringle Funeral Home in Adams is in charge of arrangements.
