Dorothy M. Pasierbiak, 96

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Dorothy Mary (Tourjee) Pasierbiak, 96, of North Adams, Mass., died Friday, January 26, 2018, at North Adams Commons.

She was born in North Adams, Mass., on April 5, 1921, daughter of Carl and Agnes (Pelletier) Tourjee. She attended local schools and graduated from St. Joseph's High School, where she was the Salutatorian of the class.

Dorothy worked at Sprague Electric Co. for over 40 years until her retirement.  She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church and was an active member of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister; was a member of the Rosary Society and Catholic Daughters of the Americas; and did the gardening at the church.  

Dorothy enjoyed gardening and travel and was devoted to her family.  She was the widow of Stanley Francis Pasierbiak who died October 18, 1986. They were married on June 28, 1941.

Survivors include one daughter, Gail Ann Grant of Adams; two sons, Carl Stanley Pasierbiak and his wife, Charlene, of Plymouth, Mass., and Gary Robert Pasierbiak of North Adams; two grandchildren, Jill Armstrong and David Grant; and nieces and nephews.  

She was predeceased by one sister and two brothers, Mildred Forgea Blondin, Harold Tourjee and Norman Tourjee.  

Dorothy's family wants to extend a special thank you to the caring staff at North Adams Commons; the doctors and nurses at Berkshire Medical Center; and the nurses at HospiceCare in the Berkshires.

Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Dorothy Pasierbiak will be celebrated Thursday, February 1, 2018, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church.  Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.

Calling hours at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapel, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, Mass., are Thursday morning from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in care of the funeral home.

I am so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. I remember her as sweet and kind whenever I was at your house. I am sure she will be missed.
