BENNINGTON, Vt. — Jay Patrick Simpson, 43, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 26, 2018, in Bennington. 

The son of the late Raymond Simpson and the late Deborah (Durboro) Binion, Jay was born in Wilmington, Delaware, on May 9, 1974 . The family relocated to Bennington, where Jay grew up and attended local schools including Mt. Anthony Union High School. 

Throughout his life Jay had worked in the construction industry where he excelled in masonry work., he had also worked in the woods as a logger. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, especially Harley's , fishing and hunting. 

He is survived by his children, Kaiden Simpson, Kiera Simpson and Myah Simpson, all of Bennington; sister Kelli Jarvis and husband Kevin of Bennington; brothers Ray Simpson Jr and John Souder, both of Delaware; his former wife, Veronica Cameron of Bennington; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. 

He is predeceased by his parents, Raymond Simpson and Deborah (Durboro) Binion; and his sister Kimberly Stewart.
