Eleanor P. Trudeau. 98

FLORIDA, Mass. — Eleanor P. Trudeau of Florida, Mass., passed on January 30, 2018, at BMC of flu complications. She was 98 years old.

She was born Sept. 19, 1919, in Adams, Mass., to Cornelia (Pike) Dion and Edward Dion. Her husband was Charles H. Trudeau; they were married April 28, 1941. Charles Trudeau died August 8,1993. Together they co-owned and operated Val's Variety Store in Adams, Mass., for 30 years. She attended Holy Family & Drury schools.

Survivors include her daughter, Carol Trudeau of Florida Mass.; Eleanor's best friend Joseph Harris and her Queener dog, with whom she made her home; daughter Charlene Brassard of Cheshire, Mass.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Eleanor had the best sense of humor and she loved to laugh; she said, what is life if you can't laugh? She always had an encouraging word for someone. She loved being outside looking at the birds and flowers and raking in the garden, playing with spinners, cars, and throwing cheese puffs around! She loved company. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral notice: Calling hours will be Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2018, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Trottier-Pringle Funeral Home on Summer Street in Adams.

Carol, I have no idea what you must be going through, in losing what I think was, the strongest pillar of strength in your life. I know your mother was that to you, and with this loss come so many layers of heartache. Your mom always spoke about you with utmost love & affection and you meant the world to her. She was truly a splendid woman and will be deeply missed. Please know my heart is open to giving you anything you might need during this time of incredible loss.
Say not, in grief, that your mother has gone, but always remain thankful that she was yours. <3
